Hi. Firstly Thanks For Taking Time To Read This;
My Daughter Is 6 Months Old + 2 Weeks, Monday 27th July We Was Diagnosed With Suspected Swine Flu ( When i Say We, I Mean Me, My Daughter And My Fiancee)
We Had All Been Taking The Medication And Staying In, Friday We Finished The Medication, My Daughter Developed A Rash Below Her Neck - Above Her Boob Area - The Same Day She Took Her First Dose Of Medication. I Did Phone NHS Direct %26amp; They Said Its Probaly Nothing To Worry About - But as a Mother i Do Worry.
Anyway Today She Woke Up At 5am Screaming And Screaming, %26amp; It Was a Rather Different / High Pitched Cry Then Normal, I Tried To Settle Her ; I Tempted To Feed Her But She Just Screamed So Much More, Changed Her Bum, Still Crying, Played With Her, She Felt a Lil Chilly So I Gave Her A Extra Blanket, She Had Her Favourite Blanket Which She Normally Sleeps With So This Was Rather Weird. I Gave Her Her Dummy And She Settled, About 2 Minutes Later She Would Just Scream %26amp; Scream. This Lasted All For About 3 Hours Until 8am i Decided To Get Up Out Of Bed And Sit In The Living Room With Her. She Simply Just Sat There Staring Around Her, Still Taking No Bottle. 11:30 She Fell Asleep.
Im a Lil Worried Though Because Shes Not Had a Bottle Since 2am Yesterday Morning Which Was a 8oz Bottle, It Is Now Jus After 12:30 Noon And By Now She Would Have Had At Least Another 2 8oz Bottles,
Now For Your Advice; Do You Think If She Wakes Up Still Rather Upset %26amp; Still Not Taking Her Bottle i Should Take Her To A%26amp;E As i Cant Get To Docs As Its Shut On a Sunday.!!
Any Advice i Would Be Very Grateful For...
Thanks - Sorry Its Long :) Im Just Very WorriedShould i Seek Medical Advice? (Sorry Its Long.)?
I wouldn't wait for her to wake up, I would take her to the doctor now. It's not good for a baby to go that long without eating, especially while sick. Dehydration can occur very fast in babies and you don't won't to have to hold your baby down just so the nurses can stick on IV in her. As far as the rash, she might be allergic to the medication they gave her so I would stop giving it to her and see if something else be done.Should i Seek Medical Advice? (Sorry Its Long.)?
Yes even if there is nothing wrong its your kid, no risks here.
When it comes to the health of your child, you haul butt to the doc, not ask people up here! Get her to the doctor.
Get her to a doctor immediately. Babies can't talk. They can't tell you want they're feeling. They are also much more vulnerable than adults.
If she's not taking her bottle she can start having her organs shut down and die of dehydration. It is a medical emergency even if she still seems OK.
Better safe than sorry!
Go to an urgent care center or an emergency room if you have to. Go NOW. Gather up what you need for a several-hour wait (diapers, bottles, cell phone, money, snack food, etc.) and GO.
