Is everyone else praying that the London Olympic Organisers seek some artistic advice before 2012? ?

because if that trashy, tacky, cheap, pointless display was anything to go by, no one is even going to turn up for the shindig. Is everyone else praying that the London Olympic Organisers seek some artistic advice before 2012? ?
It was an embarrassing display of nothingness, and Boris Johnson didn't help matters by breaching etiquette with his jacket undone and his hands in his pockets. We can do much betterIs everyone else praying that the London Olympic Organisers seek some artistic advice before 2012? ?
Don't we also need funding for our failing health service, whilst individuals are relishing self gratification, whilst doing nothing to help mankind, terminal illness is going untreated because of lack of funding.Pahapes instead of worrying about the choreography of the next fiasco, we should be getting our priorities in order.
Aww i might take the piss but surely it wasn't that bad.

The bit I saw had some geezers cycling in mid air with a few ribbons, that weren't us, but was more cringeworthy.

London is partying now, and it will be alright on the night.

Trouble is, people want a decent show but complain like hell about the cost.

We can't please everyone, or even anyone, it seems.

I think one thing summed it up really, when they all rushed to the bus, the bloke in the wheelchair didn't stand a chance - and he was at the front of the bloody 'queue'!.....yes I know it was staged /choreographed, but clearly it was the mentality of whoever choreographed the whole debacle!......such is life in a wheelchair! in this country, certainly not so in the States/Canada (can't speak for the rest, not tested yet!)
I agree with what you are saying actually. They seem to become so embroiled in head-hunting the right person for the job they lose all sense of reality. People seem scared to make any decisions so they settle for a 'catch -all' wishy washy affair.

Which is exactly what we got.

I think our Viper's made a good point about the money side..you either are prepared to break the bank and wow the world or you make do with what you have and settle for mediocrity.

Even a few pearly kings and queens on zip wire would have been better than that.
Well I thought it was good.

People outside the U.K. actually DO associate the place with red buses Big Ben and David Beckham like it or not.

But it seems like the knockers won麓t be happy till we have a ';true'; representation of Britain.

And what exactly would that be?

Vicky Pollard accompanied by a choir of obese schoolkids ???

Where was the binge drinking?

Where were the drunken knickerless tarts vomiting in the gutter?

Where was the representation of wanton knife crime?

Where were the teenage mothers with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other?

Didn't represent modern Britain at all.
the subtle show of chavs in the dance troop was a good start.. And that poor girl looked like she was going to fall off the dancers backs :D

but we have 4 years to work on it.. or to move away fast :P
I somehow think you would have asked exactly the same question no matter what the show was like. Why don't you professional Britain haters start showing some national pride?
I certainly hope so.I hope there`s no one organising that dis-organised Terminal 5 at Heathrow
They could start with that embarrassingly trashy looking 2012 logo. We've got more class than that ..... haven't we???
You have a broken country! get used to it.....The future for you is bleak.........
';Martial'; - I'm proud of Shakespeare and Newton, Hawking and Dickens.

I'm proud of Oxford and Cambridge.

I'm proud that we have produced some of the greatest minds the world has ever seen.

Why aren't people in this country going to realise that the rest of the world will never be as impressed by BritArt and BritPop or the other vacuous paraphernalia of 'Cool Britannia' as those things that have REALLY changed the world.

I'm more ashamed than proud of the likes of Tracy Emin and Liam Gallacher
We don't need to show off to that extent.

I hope they give the athletes decent and safe accommodation. A proper Olympic Village, and the rest will be a display of athletic achievement.

As someone already said, China has much to prove to the rest of the world, and they have done it in grand style. we will do it our way. i just hope the the people who plan and design it are chosen for their talents and not because they are someone's crony.!!

We need to concentrate on providing funding and facilities for our athletes first of all.
