I'm about to replace my 20 gig harddrive with a 160 gig drive in my 7 yr old sony laptop. Seeking advice?

Our 20 gig hardrive is partitioned. Windows XP with the latest updates along with an antivirus program takes up 9 gig. I am tired of the warning that pops up telling me I am running low on disk space on drive C. I recently wiped the harddrive clean and restored it. I now have 1 gig of free space on drive C. What do you think?I'm about to replace my 20 gig harddrive with a 160 gig drive in my 7 yr old sony laptop. Seeking advice?
I have upgraded the harddrive on 2 out of the 3 Dell Notebook PCs we own. One was older Dell Latitude D800 Pentium M chip requiring PATA/IDE hard drive and other was brand new Dell Latitude D620 but only had original 40GB SATA hard drive. In both instances, I bought IBM Travelstar and had good luck/success with no problems. Seagate and Western Digital makes quality 2.5'; hard drives

What you did not indicate in your description was ';Where are you buying this replacement PATA hard drive?'; bec if I were in your shoes (i) I would look/shop for best price locally from store like MICROCENTER, Best Buy, Staples etc rather than on-line since prices had dropped a lot since I did my upgrades and (ii) I would inquire about potential refund policy before making purchase or opening pkg as well as being aware maybe that you only so days bec if you should have a contingency game plan if you encountered trouble/problems during installation and loading Windows XP...

Hope the Above Info Helps!I'm about to replace my 20 gig harddrive with a 160 gig drive in my 7 yr old sony laptop. Seeking advice?
If it works OK.. than use it.. but to put a 160 Gb hard drive on a computer that is worth about $25 doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me.
